June 01, 2018 Mike's Message - Looking Ahead to Season #49

Mike Wiegele-Heliski Pioneer

THANK YOU for joining and following along with us at Wiegele World last winter. Season 2017/2018 was amazing, as Mother Nature delivered consistent powder skiing conditions all winter long! Last winter, my favourite runs throughout the season were on Saddle Mountain and on Mt. Albreda, in mid-April. The skiing was absolutely incredible.

I am excited to extend our season in 2019, so that you can fully take advantage of our majestic big glacier skiing in the spring. Also, the newly logged runs on Saddle Mountain (including Mike’s Way, Warrens Way and The Highway), are now offering even more world-class powder ski runs – just minutes from the resort.

GET READY… opening day is only 183 days away! I am already on my bike daily to stay strong for the powder days to come. I hope you will follow along with us over the next few months as Wiegele World guides and Canadian Olympic Alpine Skier Erik Read, offers us fitness tips while they train throughout the summer to take on the mountains next winter.

I am looking forward to showing you more amazing runs in Wiegele World next season, which will be season number 49 for me! With Warren Miller’s spirit in mind… I suggest you book your heli-ski week now. If not, you will only be older when you do!
