Snow Fall: Consistent accumulations of 30 feet (10m) or more is normal.
Heli Village Resort:  In Blue River, BC, on the shore of Eleanor Lake, the resort features a 22,000 square foot main lodge, 24 guest chalets, Administration Building/Guest Lobby, Sports Shop, Laundry, and Guides Haus.
Albreda Lodge:     Located 45km north of Blue River, luxurious 20 person self contained lodge with all the amenities of the Blue River resort.
Fine Dining: Powdermax Dining Room - Toni Spori, Executive Chef & award winning wine cellar featuring over 600 wines.

FILMS AND VIDEOS

Many films and videos have been shot at Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing. Hollywood Pictures, Dominique Perret, Radical Films, ESPN, DSF, Snowboarder TV, Austria’s ORF, Willi Bogner, Discovery Channel, Pontiac World of Skiing, and Warren Miller (with whom we have a 40 year association) have all used the spectacular Cariboo and Monashee Mountains as settings for their videos. Mike Wiegele

Owner

- Originally from Feistritz, Austria - Came to Canada in 1959 - Certified in 1964 as a Level 4 instructor by the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance - 1967 founded the Banff Alpine Racers & Bow Valley Quikies with with wife, Bonnie - 1970 founded heli-ski operation in Valemount then moved to Blue River - 1990 founded the Canadian Ski Guide Association Initiated the Blue River Avalanche Research Center with the Federal Government and the University of Calgary - 2000 was elected into the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Honour Roll of Canadian Skiing - 2006 was inducted into the Banff Sports Hall of Fame.

Mike Wiegele still skis and guides guests safely through the mountains throughout the winter season - living true to his favorite saying "Let's Go Skiing!"

Michelle Wiegele

President

- Born with skiing in her blood, Michelle feels most alive with a board strapped to her feet on a powder slope- Since 1992 her skills in landscape planning and environmental development transformed the Wiegele Resort grounds into the picturesque retreat seen today - 2000 assumed leadership role as president of Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing.

Influenced by both her mother and father, Michelle’s direct and truthful demeanor is refreshing and truly depicts what it is to be a Wiegele.

Bob Sayer

Senior Lead Guide

A member of the Wiegele team for more than twenty years, Bob embodies the powder skiing experience and is one of the most requested guides at Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing.

Adam Brown
Director of Projects & Resort Development

- Provisional member, Planning Institute of BC - Resort & Recreation Planner for 33 Resort - Development related projects internationally, with a focus in BC - Hands on sustainability experience installing vegetated roofing and "green" stormwater systems in Germany - Worked with the resort planning group Brent Harley and Associates, assisting the development of the master plans for The Resort at Saddle Mountain prior to coming to Blue River .
