Since 1970 Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing has provided safe and precise helicopter lifts to mountain tops and meadows throughout the Cariboo and Monashee mountains. In 2007 we introduced our Piston Bully 300 snowcats which now provide all-weather access to the groomed and powder terrain of Saddle Mountain.
Vancouver Island Helicopters (VIH) of Sidney, B.C. has been our exclusive aircraft provider and recently, they celebrated their 52nd year of operation. We use a mixed fleet of helicopters that are well-suited to our terrain and allow us to provide the Deluxe, Elite, Private and Semi-Private Packages our guests enjoy.
In our fleet, the Bell 212 serves two guides and ten guests, the Bell 407 serves one guide and five guests while the Eurocopter A-Star B2 provides service to one guide and four guests.
Our Piston Bully snowcats provide a comfortable alternative to helicopter skiing. Guests can enjoy the relaxed setting of the heated snowcat interior in-between runs on the pristine powder and gentle groomed slopes of Saddle Mountain.
MWHS's highly experienced pilots work with a team of talented engineers to maintain the industry’s highest maintenance and operating standards. Our pilots have extensive mountain flying experience and take part in biannual training sessions, equating to three weeks, specific to the conditions of our Cariboo and Monashee mountains.
Our heated helicopter hangar allows the team of engineers to ensure that the rigorous maintenance schedules and inspections are always met, regardless of weather conditions.
